A Message from Principal P
October has flown by and November is certain to go by even faster! Mr. Curtin and I want to thank all of the parents/guardians/caregivers who were able to join us for Coffee and Conversations. We appreciate everyone's feedback. A few items that were brought up include, clarification in regard to quarantining guidelines as well the expectations for teachers and students when a student has to quarantine. I have included information about these items below.
In addition we discussed our plan to make adjustments within our school day in order to build in Interaction Time within the school day. A proposed schedule will be going out to staff this week for their input.
We will continue to collaborate with staff, students, and families to achieve our mission of being better together!
With gratitude,
Jennifer Przybylski

Safety
As you may have seen on the news, there is a TikTok challenge taking place across the country that encourages students to vandalize and steal from schools and post these escapades to their TikTok accounts. We are continuing to have issues at CMS with bathroom vandalism and theft. Soap dispensers have been ripped off of the walls, refills are stolen regularly, toilets are being purposefully plugged, and there has been inappropriate writing on the walls. Each time this occurs we are forced to lock down those bathrooms until they can be cleaned and restocked. This is an inconvenience for all of our students who are using the bathrooms appropriately. Please take the time to speak with your students about respecting property and our shared spaces. We encourage any students who witness these destructive acts to come forward and tell an adult so that we can hold those students accountable in accordance with our CMS Code of Conduct.
To try and further mitigate these issues at CMS we will be implementing procedures for students to sign in and out of the bathrooms with a hall monitor.
In addition, we spend a lot of the day asking students to wear their masks over both their nose and mouth while in the building. Students do get mask breaks, but outside of that they must wear their masks properly. We are doing our best to avoid this being a disciplinary issue, but we expect students to follow the COVID safety protocols, and there will be disciplinary action if a student refuses. Please reiterate with your student that while we recognize that the rules at school do not apply to many places outside of here, they are expected to comply with all of our COVID safety protocols while on school grounds.
COVID Guidelines Related to Quarantine
- If exposed but vaccinated no quarantine required. It is recommended you be tested 3-5 days after exposure and monitor for symptoms.
- If unvaccinated and exposed you are required to quarantine for 10 days
- If you have COVID symptoms you need to leave work/school and get tested. Once you have a negative test you can return to work/school.
